SOFTLY, WITH FEELING, the latest short film from the award-winning filmmaker of QUARANTINE, ACTUALLY (Best First Feature, TINFF ‘22), is officially in pre-production. The film follows a sheltered woman who is disturbed by the unexpected guests her domineering husband invites to dinner.

The screenplay, written by Angela Hilario, has been years in the making. Formerly titled “White Elephant,” the film focuses on a larger theme of female oppression. “I’m excited and challenged to bring this abstract theme within the frame of a thrilling, plot-driven short film,” Hilario says.

Filming is expected to begin September 2024 in New York. Hollis House, LLC will produce the film. Casting will be announced in the summer.

Angela Hilario is a writer, actor, filmmaker and founder of media company, Hollis House, LLC. Her first novel, KALEIDOSCOPE’S LIGHT was published in 2017, and her first feature film QUARANTINE, ACTUALLY won Best First Feature at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival.
